Roof details and scope
Removing the existing roof exposed gapped skip-sheathing and three layers of underlayment, according to the signed change order. The added scope documented full roof decking work and removal of those additional layers. This was a change to the original shingle-replacement scope, not a condition inferred from a finished-roof photograph.
The installation photograph shows new OSB panels alongside exposed board decking, including the junction between two roof planes. It records work while the roof was open. The image is useful evidence of the decking work, but it is not a finished-roof or final-cleanup photograph.
The change order also documented deteriorated gas-vent assemblies and additional chimney flashing work. Those items illustrate why a roof replacement needs a written process for concealed conditions: the contractor must identify what changed and define the added work rather than leave the homeowner to interpret an unexplained total.
